Gran Pere

Gran Pere is Brad's grandfather's fancy name for being the "great grandpa" (or at least that is what we would call him on my side of the family) He flew in from Baton Rouge last Thursday & left on Tuesday. We had a really great visit. He is in really great shape...seriously...he even competes & wins in the senior olympics for weight lifting. No there is not alot of competition in his age group, but at least he keeps active & has something he enjoys.

It is a good thing he was in shape, b/c we had him unloading the van, carrying two new sets of patio furniture to the cabin & chase/wrestle with two very active boys.

Gran Pere self-entertains & he would go outside & sit on our patio in the heat of the day. (Brad really thought that was strange, but I think Brad has forgotten what a relief this weather is to Baton Rouge)

Gran Pere is also very set in his ways about not venturing into the techno world. No cellphone. No pay @ the pump. No internet. Now about a few things he loves....merlot, Saturday night steaks cooked on a charcoal grill with 15 briquets, perrier water, rounded toothpicks and Fox News.
