Kerry & Me
"At last"...this was the name of the song the bride & groom danced to...I just love that song & what a perfect song for their first dance (b/c Cheree has really been a bridesmaid alot & never the bride) Okay, so I have to detail the wedding & reception b/c both were definitely bloggable events.
THE Wedding... Hurricane Gustav headed to south Louisiana couldn't be a more fitting theme for Cheree's blessed event. She was always the sh*t magnet in residency (& I think she was proud of it) Gorgeous sanctuary in downtown Baton Rouge, Friday night, beautiful bridesmaids (dresses a shade of purple, which is the "in" color this season, but definite plus for LSU fans) There was a full choir in the balcony accompanied by a brass band. It was amazing. We sat with S'port friends Kerry & Jason Tynes (Jason said they should sell soundtrack cd's of the wedding"
Seven...7....yes, Seven priests stood up for Cheree & Randi for their nuptials...WOW! Between seeing them all in robes & hearing the tunes, I kept waiting for them to bust out & start dancing like the movie "Sister Act". They blessed them with a beautiful, touching homily that detailed how they met as children b/c their families were in the same supper club & they reconnected recently. The priest also joked that their first born will be named - Katrina or Gustav - b/c of impending storm & being anniversary of past storm.
THE reception...most girls dream of being able to walk into a mansion like at the Country Club of Louisiana for their reception. Great band & the food...don't even get me started...Brad is still baffled that wedding food could be that good. It was so delicious & filling that we didn't even think about second servings. Great cakes & pastries. The goodbye favor was a white chocolate turtle candy wrapped in a cute box with a white satin bow & it said, "Sweet Dreams", which we definitely had.
